Project Overview:
A multi-billion dollar financial services software company needed a way to quickly and effectively make modifications to its EDI system. 

Business Challenge:
The fundamental issue facing this client was that business users lacked access to EDI data.  Routine modifications to the EDI system required the business department to utilize four IT department resources.  Those resources wrote PL/SQL commands that took an average of six weeks to complete.  Vendor changes to the system took and average of four months.  In addition to being unwieldy and inefficient, elements of the system represented a SOX violation.

Maxonic Approach:
Maxonic proposed creating a flexible GUI interface to the EDI system that would allow business users to make changes themselves (virtually independent of IT).  The GUI would allow for error resolution, reporting, additions to business rules, and data reprocessing.  We further proposed automating the dataflow for retail transactions.
